The fiber is beautiful, and hey, there's a whole cottage industry devoted to making thick and thin novelty yarns! I've heard a lot of spinners try so hard to get an even yarn that eventually, they forget how to make the thick and thing poofy stuff. I try to alternate thickness of yarn from one batch of handspun to the next so I don't get stuck in a rut. But spinning is kind of mesmerizing, isn't it? My husband tried it once, and then wound up buying some absolutely gorgeous black and white silk/alpaca blend at a fiber show. He hasn't spun it yet, tho, and it's really hard for me keep myself from spinning it. :)
