Plugin Update

So I have written 2 Wordpress Plugins.

  1. Technorati Favorites Plugin
  2. My Technorati Tag Cloud

I have just updated both of them to be widgets that work with Wordpress Widgets. You can download them here

  1. Technorati Favorites Plugin
  2. My Technorati Tag Cloud

To install them just unzip put the files in your Wordpress plugin directory and enable them. Then go to your  Sidebar and add them as a widget, configure and you are set. There is not much that is different this is just a version that works with Wordpress Widgets.

Note: This does require Wordpress 2.0 and Wordpress Widgets. This should work with Wordpress.com if have the ability to install widgets on it

[…] I just added a Technorati Tag Cloud to the sidebar on the right. The widget is from here: Random Thoughts » Plugin UpdateHowever, I ran into a problem with multiple PHP warnings: “Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated - argument passed by value” for passing arguments by reference. Made the appropriate changes in the code and it works fine. […]

Link #2 above is broke. I would like to use the tagcloud. Is there a help/information file for this plugin? I activated it on my site, but can’t find a way/where to actually use it. Help please?

Hi, I’d love to try out your tag cloud, however, the link is broken. If you post it again, I’d love to hear about it.

Thanks!

Hi,

I installed your widget/plugin and it works fine but I’m unable to customize it like a “regular” tag cloud. All it displays is a list of my tags unlike what you have on your front page (tags displayed in bigger font size, different colors, etc). I looked at your tags.php but couldn’t figure out anything (I’m dumb in php). If it’s not asking for too much, can you please have a look at http://www.sandeepweb.com. You need to scroll right down the side bar (at the left) to see my tags (it’s captioned as “TAGS”).

Many thanks in advance for your help in customizing it.

You need to add
#bigheatmap a { font-size: 0.97em; }

To the Style section of the CSS

Your CSS sets the size and keeps it from being able to look like a tag cloud

I have installed this and it works fine… sometimes. Sometimes it doesn’t show up at all. Is this as issue with Technorati?

[…] Tag Cloud Plugin - Notice the tag cloud in the right hand column?  That plugin is…  acting strange.  I don’t know whether it is the plugin itself, my hosting provider or my ISP, but it seems like when the sun goes down, (litterally), the plugin results, tag cloud, won’t show up on the page.  I don’t know whats up with that.  I have left a comment for the author.  It is a really neat plugin and is easy to install and set up.  It’s actually a widgit.
